I am in search of a very specific building: 372 Fulton Street. Within the first and second floors of the Italianate structure with a neo-Grec storefront lies the newly reopened Gage & Tollner.

A gate creaks open. Inside are little stone pathways and a small stone bench. The bench stands surrounded by layers of espalier apples, boxwoods, an apricot tree, flower bushes, and vegetable plants. The garden is located on an empty townhome-sized lot, hiding in the most obvious of places, but never noticed.
